Steamboat Cat Spin
You're an anthropomorphic mouse looking to make some mischief in the year 1928. What to do, what to do? By Jove, a cat! I know, I'll swing it over my head! That'll be sure to bring great amusement to both myself and onlookers.
PC instructions
To play this game, I recommend plugging in a controller that has analogue sticks. Spin the stick as fast as you can anti-clockwise. Take precautions, as prolonged play may cause skin irritation and controller wear.
To play without a controller, move the mouse cursor anti-clockwise. You may find this easier if you first increase your cursor size in system settings and play in full screen (button in bottom-right corner of game).
Up to 8 friends can join you! You can share controllers and move one stick each, or plug in up to 4 controllers. Each player can contribute to the cat's speed. Example configuration:
Mobile instructions
You can play the game on a smartphone or tablet in the same way. Drag your finger or stylus in a circular motion, anti-clockwise, to spin the cat fast!
If using your finger, a touchscreen-compatible glove is recommended in order to avoid friction burns. Controllers might also work but I don't see why you'd put yourself through that.
Known issues:
- Text outline renders incorrectly on Android.
- Audio has more problems than normal in Samsung Internet.
- Performance is bad in Firefox (Android, subject to device).
- Sound and controls do not work on iOS 15 (unplayable).
Nintendo 64 instructions
Rotate the control stick anti-clockwise to spin the cat faster. How fast can it go?! Multiple players can contribute to the cat's speed.
As N64 control sticks are not rubber-coated, you must refrain from using the palm of your hand without wearing a padded glove, else injury will occur.
The Rumble Pak is supported. This game does not utilise the Expansion Pak.
The N64 version of this game is in alpha and isn't guaranteed to work properly on hardware or at all. But it does work in the Ares emulator as of July 2025, after you have configured the input settings. Most other emulators only do high-level emulation so won't work.
